Game Rules

Ventti (Finnish Blackjack) (High Stakes)

A game unique to the Kitty Risker! Play blackjack as the Ala Migans play it!

The aim of ventti is to get to, or get as close as possible to, a total value of 21.

HOWEVER, in ventti, an ace has a value of 1 (aces low), a jack has a value of 11, a queen has a value of 12, and a king has a value of 13 (royal ascension).

Participate by trading your bet to the dealer. Once all bets are in, the dealer draws his first card, then going from dealer's left to dealer's right players do /dice 13 to see what their cards are.

Once all players have played, the dealer draws the second card, following the same rules as the player. If the dealer draws cards with a total value of more than the player without exceeding 21, the game is lost, and if the dealer draws too many cards and busts (goes over 21) the game is won.

Cards may be hit by doing /dice 13 until the value of the cards in hand gets high enough to stand with them (not wanting to risk busting), by getting a ventti (total value 21), or by busting (going past 21).

If the dealer busts, you win 1.5x your bet! If you get a natural ventti (21 on first two cards), you get 3x(!) your bet! If you bust on draw or you tie the dealer, you lose!

Bet range for Ventii is 5k-500k, in increments of 1k!

Street Craps

Want to learn to play craps, but without all the confusing rules? This is the game for you!

Pay out a bet to the dealer, and specify which bet you're making, Pass or Don't Pass.

"Pass" means that the shooter will hit the point number -- which is about to be established -- before they hit 7, while "Don't Pass" means the reverse. "Don't Pass" also includes hitting 2, 3, or 12 on the come-out roll, which is an automatic loss for all Pass bets.

The first shooter is the person to the dealer's left.

Once all players have posted a bet, the shooter will be instructed to /dice 6 twice.

Depending on the roll, various outcomes can occur:

  • If the shooter rolls a 7 or 11 (yo-leven), Pass wins, Don't Pass loses.
  • If the shooter rolls a 2, 3, or 12 (craps), Pass loses, Don't Pass Wins.
  • Otherwise, the number rolled is the point. Once the point is established ("The point is on"), the shooter must roll the point again before sevening out in order for Pass bets to win. The order of play now looks like this:
    •  If the shooter rolls a 7, Pass loses, Don't Pass wins.
    • If the shooter rolls the point, Pass wins, Don't Pass loses, and a new round is started ("The point is off").
    • Otherwise, the shooter keeps rolling. Once the shooter sevens out with the point on, their turn is over, and the shooter becomes the person to their left. Bet range for Street Craps is 10k-100k, in increments of 1k.

Street Craps Advanced Rules

Note: For those in the know only!

NO SIDE BETS (This may change, but seriously, most side bets are garbage odds and you should never ever make them in a real casino.), No buyins when the point is on, No trades when the dealer calls for shot, No leaving without natural break, No call bets, No warmup rolls, No pushes, Craps pays 3:2, Point/Natural pays 2:1

Further Note

Craps is a *very* superstitious game, and has a lot of etiquitte involved. We'll go over some of it here.

Once the point is on, we ***DO NOT FOR ANY REASON SAY SEVEN.*** You say "ace-six" or "the Devil" or "Big Red" or even "the S-word".

Most dealers even will go to great lengths to avoid saying seven.

Saying it is considered bad luck for everyone at the table.

This is really the only hard rule of craps etiquitte. It's rude to leave the game if you make a come-out roll.

Finish the run by either sevening out, or passing the shooter to the next person.

It's also customary and universal in craps to tip the dealer or fellow players, or even place a toke ("Token") bet for the dealer to make the game more fun. For fellow players, it can be for a good roll or a long gold arm, which is shooting for over an hour without sevening out.

Craps is also a cooperative game. You're all playing together and having fun, don't bet too hard against the flow with Don't Pass. Every once and a while is fine, but the more you do it the more you're seen as playing against the group.

Be polite to the staff. A busy night can make dealing a craps game a pain in the ass, because the dealer is not just enabling fun, he's keeping track of bets.

Remember to WAIT UNTIL THE DEALER SAYS YOU CAN THROW. This assures everyone has had a chance to bet and the dealer has a chance to take down stock of bets.

Hazard

Want to kick it like it's 1699? Play the progenitor to modern craps!

All players post a bet to the dealer, then the player at the dealer's farthest left begins by playing as the caster. Any number may play, but only one player – the caster – has the dice at any one time.

In each round, the caster specifies a number between 5 and 9 inclusive: this is the main. They then throw two dice.

If they roll the main, they win (throwing in or nicking).

If they roll a 2 or a 3, they lose (throwing out or outing).

If they roll an 11 or 12, the result depends on the main:

  • with a main of 5 or 9, they throw out with both an 11 and a 12;
  • with a main of 6 or 8, they throw out with an 11 but nick with a 12;
  • with a main of 7, they nick with an 11 but throw out with a 12.

If they neither nick nor throw out, the number thrown is called the chance.

They throw the dice again:

  • if they roll the chance, they win;
  • if they roll the main, they lose (unlike on the first throw);
  • if they roll neither, they keep throwing until they roll one or the other, winning with the chance and losing with the main.

The caster keeps their role until losing three times in succession. After the third loss, they must pass the dice to the left, that player becoming the new caster. Bet range is 5k-250k, in increments of 1k, both nick and chance pay 2:1.
